In the fall or early spring grass seed is sown, we grow about 4 acres of grass seed. In spring it is fertilized. The grass becomes about 40 to 50 centimeters high. In July or August, the grass is mowed.
After the grass is mowed, the grass has to dry 2 to 4 days. Subsequently, the dried grass is harvested with the combine. The harvester saves the seeds and separates it from the grass crop. The grass seed goes to the factory where it is dried further, cleaned and packed. The grass that remains is called grass hay. This is used as animal feed, or cover for winter crops. The grass seed is used for pastures, roadsides, sports fields, lawns, etc. to sow. There are over 25 species of grass of which different mixtures are made.
